Renewable Energy Research and Training Centre in Bishkek

Renewable Energy Research and Training Centre in Bishkek

About the Project

The Renewable Energy Research and Training Centre in Bishkek is a flagship initiative of the Bulan Institute for Peace Innovations, co-established in partnership with the Kyrgyz State Technical University named after I. Razzakov. The agreement to establish the Centre was officially signed in Bishkek on 31 March 2026, by Cholpon Orozobekova, director of the Bulan Institute and Mirlan Chynybaev, the Rector of KSTU, marking the formal launch of this joint initiative.

The Centre was created in response to the growing need for qualified professionals and practical solutions in renewable energy in Kyrgyzstan and across Central Asia. It serves as a modern educational and scientific-practical platform that bridges academic knowledge with hands-on experience, contributing to the country’s green transition and energy resilience.

The Centre's core objectives are threefold. First, it aims to provide high-quality professional training and upskilling for energy specialists, with a strong focus on solar and wind energy systems, including installation, maintenance, and operation. Second, the Centre promotes applied research in renewable energy, supporting innovation and locally adapted solutions. Third, it functions as a platform for dialogue and cooperation, bringing together academic institutions, policymakers, and practitioners to advance sustainable energy development.

The official opening ceremony of the Centre took place on 6 April 2026 in Bishkek, gathering representatives of government, academia, and international partners. The event marked not only the inauguration of a new facility but also the beginning of a long-term investment in human capital, technical expertise, and sustainable development.

Through its integrated approach—combining training, research, and dialogue—the Renewable Energy Research and Training Centre contributes to strengthening national capacity, supporting the adoption of clean energy technologies, and fostering a new generation of skilled professionals committed to a greener future.
