With the support of the OSCE, the Bulan Institute and the Kyrgyz State Technical University named after I. Razzakov successfully organized and completed two solar energy training sessions in May and June 2025. These trainings marked a significant step toward building national expertise in renewable energy, in line with Kyrgyzstan’s broader goals for sustainable energy development.
Two trainings brought together 24 carefully selected participants nominated by the Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan. Among them were representatives from two of the country's key energy institutions: the National Electric Grid System and the Chakan Hydroelectric Power Station (Chakan HPP). Reflecting a strong commitment to gender inclusion, five of the twelve participants were women.
Spanning eight intensive days, each training offered a comprehensive, practice-oriented program designed to strengthen participants’ technical skills in solar energy. The curriculum, jointly developed by the Bulan Institute and KSTU, included 24 sessions and 64 teaching hours. It followed a three-pronged model combining theoretical lectures, laboratory work, and practical field training. Instruction was provided by experienced faculty members from KSTU, with valuable contributions from industry professionals representing Bishkek Electro, New Tech, and EnergoProekt.
Participants were mid- to senior-level professionals, including lead engineers, category-one engineers, senior specialists, and department heads. Their strong engagement was evident throughout the training, especially during group discussions, lab exercises, and site visits. The program concluded with a written test and a practical examination, both of which all participants successfully completed.
