Panel Discussion
On 25th June 2024, the Bulan Institute organized a panel discussion on the nexus of climate change, human security and terrorism. The discussion was anchored in the policy paper by Women Without Borders, which underscores the urgent need to rethink traditional security paradigms when climate change reshapes global security landscapes. The paper argues that conventional approaches to security, centred on military capabilities alone, may be insufficient in addressing the complex and interconnected threats posed by climate change. The authors of the paper, Mr Thomas Wuchte and Ms Rehema Zaid Obuyi, joined the discussion alongside Dr. Edit Schlaffer, Founder and Chair of Women without Borders and Mr. Noufal Abboud, Executive Director of the Nordic Center for Conflict Transformation.
