About the Project
The project aims to promote solar energy adoption in Kyrgyzstan by establishing a solar training center, training local specialists, raising awareness, developing knowledge products, and facilitating interstate exchange among Central Asian countries. The pilot phase of the project started with the support of the OSCE and SolarSpar. The project is implemented jointly with Kyrgyz State Technical University named after I. Razzakov. We are organizing solar trainings for local energy specialists, electricians, engineers to teach them install solar panels, maintain and connect them to the grid.
The project aims to raise awareness about renewable energy sources among local municipality leaders (Akims) and Aiyl okmotu (head of villages) so they change their behavior, approach, and culture toward renewable energy sources and can support and promote solar energy adoption in regions. We also will produce manuals with step-by-step instructions on how to install and maintain solar panels. They will be developed in Kyrgyz, Russian, Uzbek and Kazakh and distributed in regions. The project will also facilitate interstate exchange in Central Asia.
