On 19 August 2022, the Bulan Institute organized a workshop to discuss challenges and promising practices in the rehabilitation and reintegration of female returnees. The workshop aimed to identify and share good practices from Kazakhstan and Tajikistan’s experiences of the rehabilitation and reintegration of female returnees, with particular attention to the aspects such as organizing coherent long-term support: ensuring a smooth transition from one phase to another with the involvement of multi-professional practitioners, involving wide-ranging stakeholders such as local and municipal authorities, law enforcement agencies, mental health professionals, civil society organizations, religious leaders, local community members, and families, building trust and fostering a sense of security, healing trauma and providing psychological assistance, etc.
