On 3rd September 2021, the Bulan Institute hosted a panel event that discussed state policies towards ISIS associates in some Asian countries. The speakers reflected on state approaches in Central Asian countries, in Indonesia and Malaysia. We were honoured to welcome three distinguished experts to help us understand this complex issue. We had two distinguished experts from South Asia: Mira KUSUMARINI, Director of the EMPATIKU Foundation in Indonesia and Ahmad, El-Muhammady, Associate Fellow at International Centre for Counter-Terrorism – The Hague. We also have a great honor to have Ms Cholpon Orozobekova, director of the Bulan Institute, who reflected on repatriation operations in Central Asia.
